Sensely Ask NHS 

The ASK NHS app is a new app commissioned by NHS Buckinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to help patients get the right healthcare they need at the right time. It has been developed by local GPs and leading IT company, Sensely. Using the app can help patients take more control of their own health

We are working hard to make sure that patients in Buckinghamshire get the right service when they need it. For patients that need to see a GP we want to make sure that they can get access through mobile phone or smart devices.

We have been commissioned to develop and deliver the ASK NHS app to support patients, registered with a Buckinghamshire GP get easier access to primary care services.

The ASK NHS app is free to download and features an interactive symptom checker which triages the patient to the most appropriate onward care service within appropriate timescale, effectively helping patients to choose the right service in Buckinghamshire.

Where do I get the app from?

It is free to download from the App Store (Apple devices) or Google Play (Android devices) and can be accessed through your practice website.

What other services are available through the Ask NHS app?

Ask NHS offers a self-care option which directs the patient to information from www.nhs.uk, a service finder for information about local healthcare services (dentists, pharmacies and A&E). You can also book and cancel appointments at your GP practice.

Can I book an appointment with my GP?

Depending on your symptoms, if you need to see a GP the app will direct you to appropriate appointments available at your GP practice.

Who can access the app?

All patients who are registered with a GP in Buckinghamshire can access services through this app. Anyone can download the symptom checker. Patients with mental health symptoms and carers are advised to contact their GP. Pregnant women and cancer patients are also advised to contact their GP. This app should not be used for patients under the age of 16.

Can I contact my practice about other things that are not symptom related?

Yes, there is an Admin request function where you can send in a request to the practice and they will respond to you via email, text or telephone which ever you prefer
